Practice Areas

I work with individuals and couples on a wide array of issues. My areas of specialty include:

Depression

An estimated 9.5 percent of the population in the United States suffer from depression, which often occurs alongside other mental illnesses such as anxiety and substance abuse, among others. Depression can have an overwhelmingly debilitating effect on a person's ability to carry out their daily functions. Everyone deserves to lead a joyous and fulfilling life while effectively managing those difficulties that life inevitably brings our way. Talk therapy, along with medication, has been shown to be one of the best treatments for depression and often leads to enduring improvements in one's overall health and well-being as it provides a space to uncover and address the root causes and change problematic patterns of behavior.

Anxiety

Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the United Sates, affecting approximately 40 million adults. The effects of anxiety can be crippling. The good news is that anxiety is treatable. Evidenced-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), in combination with medication and alternative therapies, can be incredibly beneficial in leading one toward a more manageable and enjoyable life. Together we can work to find a combination of approaches that best suits your individual needs.

Relationship Issues

Cultivating loving and supportive relationships is an integral part of our survival as human beings. We cannot flourish without them. Quite often though, many of us find ourselves caught in counter-productive patterns. Through the identification of our underlying thoughts and beliefs we can work together to change these patterns which can lead you toward the relationships you have always desired.
